I think it's a goner, but before I box it up to send it in for warranty work... help?
(PS2 box for click-bait, sorry/not-sorry)
If any of you esteemed PSPortal elders can provide advice on my situation I'd greatly appreciate it.
New PS Portal, less than 5 weeks old. Hasn't been dropped, left in a hot car, or anything that would cause premature damage or wear/tear.
Turn it on last night. I've got 31% battery so I plug in my charger then headphones. Start playing Skyrim. About 5 minutes in the Portal just dies. No power-down, no dropped connection, just immediate blank-black-screen, dead. Tried to power it back on and nothing.
Now I've tried all of the Google result suggestions. Hold power button or combination of buttons for XX seconds, different chargers, connect to PS5, etc., and I get nothing. No charging indicator when plugged in and the Portal shows no signs of life no matter what I do. Nothing visible, no sound.
Am I boned? Should I just send it in to Sony?
Again any help or advice is appreciated.
(Oddly enough this is my second Sony/PS product that has died while playing Skyrim. My 60gig PS3 Fat died in 2011 about 90 hours in at Markarth's Understone Keep, and this Portal died about 180 hours in near the Markarth blacksmith. I don't even spend a lot of time in Markarth, I hate that city.)
TL;DR - My 5 week old Portal died-died. Looking for any "fixes" other than the most common remedies before I send it in to Sony. Yes I put 180 hours into Skyrim in 5 weeks.
