Insurance suddenly saying they can repair my car
Long story short, over a month ago someone hit my car and drove off. Insurance said initially it was going to be a write off, I agreed to have an e finest comedown to classify it and so on. The plan was to buy the car back as it would’ve been a cat N, I wouldn’t have had to really repair it.
2 weeks after the engineer came down, they left a message saying that they’ve now decided that it might be economically repairable and that they recommended going through one of their own internal repairers. After an entire month of me panicking and fretting over all this, they suddenly back tracked on themselves?!!
My main question is, can I ask them to stick with the initial writing off the car and buying it back? Or is that no longer a pathway? Financially, I can’t afford the excess atm, and this situation has really damp d it all for me
