I built an app for tracking and sharing GAA stats
Hi, I’m a GAA coach and software engineer, and my wife/cofounder is an LGFA manager and data analyst. Over the last year we’ve been building an app called TeamTally to help grassroots teams track games, season progress and share live match moments with supporters, without needing someone constantly posting on social media.
We originally built it because most stats and analysis tools felt either too expensive or on the other hand, too basic for club teams, who are looking to improve.
Since then we’ve tracked around 200 matches in private beta across different clubs and codes, and we’ve just properly launched on iPhone with Android coming soon.
The idea is:
- Track matches live from the sideline
- Get instant stats and summaries
- Follow season progress over time
- Give supporters a live “fan zone” during games, where they get score updates and key moments directly through the app via push notifications, without relying on someone updating Facebook or X every few minutes
- Keep proper player and team stats without county level budgets
The free version lets anyone track games and get core stats.
The paid version, roughly the cost of an O’Neills football for the year, adds things like:
- Advanced analytics
- Season tracking
- Player tracking
- Unlimited fan zones
- More detailed reports
What’s been cool so far is seeing who actually uses it, not just coaches, but injured players, parents, subs and supporters all getting involved in tracking matches.
We’re still building constantly and would genuinely love feedback from clubs, coaches, players or supporters on what would make it more useful.
Happy to answer any questions here too.
You can get it in the App Store by searching Team Tally.
Thanks!
