Audrey "enjoyed watching tapes of Balanchine pieces (ballet) towards the end of her life"?
I came across this really bare article from Dance Magazine saying Audrey got into watching ballet towards the end of her life citing People Magazine? Does anyone have more on this or anything about her enjoyment of ballet later in her life? Personally I know that feeling that ballet never truly "leaves" your life once you stop training so that'd make sense. An interest in Balanchine would've made perfect sense too as he was famously fond of taller dancers (his dance muse, Suzanne Farrell, was 5'9").
Robert Matzen seems to corroborate this somewhat saying: "Ask Audrey at any point in her life what she aspired to be and she would say “a dancer.” She never answered “an actress.”" - so it wouldn't surprise me if her interest in ballet persisted and she would've been in close proximity to some of the best ballet in the world when visiting Paris, London and NYC, but would just love to hear more about it if you guys know anything! Thanks!
