Built my first web app because I wanted notifications for when to turn on my whole-house fan. I figured others might find it useful too. I have a whole-house fan and kept forgetting to run it on nights when conditions were actually right. AC would run instead. All I wanted was a simple mobile notification telling me when to turn it on. Couldn’t find anything that did it, so I built FanCast. It checks temperature, humidity, and air quality for your ZIP and tells you exactly when conditions are right to run your fan. Also added a simple ROI calculator using historical climate data for anyone deciding whether a whole-house fan is worth installing in their area. First real project I’ve shipped. Built it for myself but figured why keep it to myself. Free, no ads, hoping to keep it that way. Would love any feedback on the tool, the UX, anything. Still learning as I go.
