Picked up a used 318g 2019. Fluid levels were normal.

Maybe it is my inexperience is showing and it is simply the hydrostatic whining - I don't think so it is 3-4 times louder than any other skid steer I've operated and considerably louder than my tractor which I've had for years.

First time I've owned a skid steer, never worked on one.

Once I got it home and started it up shortly after it started making a grinding noise that pretty bad/ worse when turning. I believe it was equal left or right.

When in park with the hydraulics locked the boom/bucket are locked however if you push either stick forward/back it triggers the noise and is at its loudest

All the smart functions trigger a "function not available" on the LCD panel. Things like auto level, pattern change (stuck in H) float etc.

I found a small fuse box under the cab on the operators right side. Checked the relays and fuses all good, relays click and coils ohm test fine, and so do the terminals when the coils is energized.

Pulled the hydraulic fluid filter. It was so tight it started spinning freely. Drove a screw at the top and got it removed. Cut it open with a chisel and snips to avoid as much metal shavings from introduced as possible.

Doesn't seem like there is any significant metal?

Before I take it deere I gotta replace the filter, anything else I should take a precursory look at?

Edit: I forgot I did look at the code history. (No active codes)
