Lately my PC has started to shut down during gaming, the video freezes but the audio keeps playing in the background for a few seconds before the PC reboots.

At first i suspected the dreaded 12VHPWR cable but there are no signs of melting cables, temperatures are really good and the voltage to the GPU is stable. I have also tested the RAM and M.2's without issues.

If i start playing games after the automatic reboot it usually freezes again within short time, however if i shut down the PC, turn the PSU off with the switch on the back and drain the capacitors holding down the power button before powering on again i can play intensive games for hours and hours without any problems.

This leads me to suspect that the PSU is to blame, note that the PSU is 9-10 years old and it has been running everyday since i bought it.
