I'm getting a new boiler and unvented cylinder. We spoke about an Aquabion and was quoted for a 15mm Aquabion scale inhibitor (whole house) complete with all fitting and fixtures (£445.01 ex VAT).

I did a bit of research and i although i understand the science behind it, because my system heats stored water via a cylinder coil rather than instant heating, scale already forms more slowly, and since Aquabion doesn’t remove hardness it wouldn’t add much meaningful protection.

So it's been removed from the quote. I think maybe I'll get a proper water softener in the future.
