Project: Untitled British Feature Film (Based on the acclaimed verse novel) Working Title: Project Blue Production Company: FDS We are searching for a breakout young talent to play the lead role in a gritty, heart-wrenching, and deeply poetic feature film. We are looking for an authentic, "unpolished" kid—no previous acting experience or professional training is required. ### The Role: "Nate" We are looking for a boy, aged 9–12, who can carry a story with both humor and heavy emotion. The Vibe: He is a "tall and skinny" kid with a big personality. He is soulful, protective of his younger brothers, and navigating a difficult year at school. The Energy: He’s a kid who is always on the move. Whether he’s playing football on the estate or running through the rain, he needs to look natural in a gritty, outdoor environment. The Voice: We are strictly looking for a natural Manchester or Greater Manchester accent. We want to hear the real rhythm of the city—nothing staged or "posh." Requirements & The "Messy" Factor This isn't a studio-bound role. The character lives a very active, "outdoors" life. Applicants must: Be comfortable filming in all weather conditions (rain, mud, wind). Be happy to get "messy" as part of the character’s adventurous lifestyle. Have a high level of energy and a natural, expressive face. Looking for a child actor (ages 9–12) based in the UK with a Manchester accent. It doesn’t need to be super strong — just naturally Manc so it’s not confused with Liverpool.
The role includes a few messy scenes, so the actor should be comfortable getting a bit muddy or chaotic on camera.
