My doctor asked me to come in so we could go over what he was submitting to my insurance for Zep pre-authorization. He wasn’t hopeful I’d be approved since he’s seen so many disappointed patients.
Before the appointment, I spent some time on ChatGPT and it gave me a letter tailored to my insurance plan and recent sleep study results. It suggested specific wording it claimed United Healthcare screened for, and what secondary sleep study info they’d want.
My doctor felt a little weird about following an AI script, but he humored me. Guess what, Doc. The damn thing got me my approval in 24 hours! Maybe I would have been approved anyway, but I’m glad I did my homework.
So the moral of the story, if AI is screening pre-authorization requests, AI can write ‘em.
Good luck everybody!
