I have a friend who loves Lorcana and has been with me on my Lorcana journey since the start. He has a very particular mindset and doesn't like netdecking. He justifies this by saying it feels like cheating by copying someone's list and using their exact strategy. I don't agree with that at all and try to argue that a ton of the top players have countless years of experience with other card games and there's no shame in "standing on the shoulders of giants" and using public information to help us play established, strong decks. He tends to not win often and expresses frustration at not notably improving after years of tweaking his lists and regular League attendance.

I feel most TCG players embrace netdecking, but what do you all think? If you're pro-netdecking, what are some other things I could suggest to possibly change his mind? I'm also open to hearing reasons why copying a deck isn't as honorable as I've come to personally understand.
