I was very active when I was younger, got pretty big in the gym and did heaps of sports.
Now I’m nearly 40 and every time I try to get back into the gym I keep injuring myself, mainly joints. I think my old competitiveness (competitive to myself) comes out. I don’t try to lift overly heavy but I generally always go to failure.
I think I already know the answer, but I should be lifting lighter with more reps?
My last injury I was doing 5x5 for around 18 months and ended up with tennis elbow.
I’m now trying to do 3x weekly full body.
