So one I’m new here so I apologize if this is a dumb question.

Anyway I don’t know if I’m alone here with this struggle ,but does anyone else have a hard time in the gym with elbow hyper mobility?

Like saw for example on any movement that involved locking out your elbows (bench press, military press, tricep dips, etc). Which has caused me a good bit of elbow pain post workout or my elbows becoming very sore for days after. Or at times they get so weak I can barely hold like a metal water bottle out in front of me.

I’ve been lifting for about 5 or so years now and only ever noticed I was hypermobile due to a friend of mine pointing it out because it looked “scary”. I don’t know if it’s due to never noticing and having a heavy load on the joint while it’s past the normal ROM or if hyper mobile joints in general aren’t very strong.

But since then I try to be cautious and not fully extend during my workouts but it’s hard to be always be mindful of it.

So to any other flexy elbow people out there is there anything I can do about this? Like any exercises that help with strengthening that joint or any tricks y’all use to prevent them from locking out.
