hi everyone, I have a Ruby Falls Redbud that I planted in 2022. The tree has bloomed more and more each year since I planted it, and it has become our fav plan on the property. This year, in zone 6B it is only blooming from the trunk, and my other lavender twist redbud has fulled bloomed, and is leafing out already, as well as my other eastern redbuds on the property. ive done a scratch test and while there was deff some dead wood under the canopy, there is plenty of branches that have some green in the. some are more green than others, and seem a bit more bendy than others, but there is a lot of green when doing a scratch test (although some of the green seems like its a dull yellowish green) there are buds on the canopy, but I believe they are buds that came up, and froze off with a late spring frost. curious if anybody has dealt with this before, or if they believe this will bounce back. im gonna be devastated if its dead.
ive considered that maybe the root stock is trying to take over, but there is green on branches above the graft. really appreciate any advice. I shared some photos of the tree blooming last year, and leafed out last year. it’s always been VERY healthy, and had zero issues until now.
