My BMW E36 318is is broken. Please help me.
I’m having an issue with my BMW E36 318is where the throttle seems to stay slightly open while driving, like the car still thinks I’m pressing the accelerator.
When I push the clutch in to shift or come to a stop, the RPM doesn’t drop normally and instead hangs with a “woooong~~” sound.
Sometimes if I tap the gas pedal with my foot, the RPM drops back to normal idle, but other times tapping the pedal only makes the RPM go even higher.
One time when the RPM was stuck high, I opened the hood and noticed that the throttle lever was not fully returning to the closed position. When I pushed the throttle lever by hand, the RPM immediately returned to normal.
I thought the throttle lever might be sticking, so I tried spraying lubricant on it, but it didn’t help.
In this case, could cleaning the throttle body and ICV fix the issue?
