I’ve been on a bit of an Agatha Christie binge lately and found myself wondering - what would Hercule Poirot actually wear?
That question sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole comparing two of my favourites, the Longines Heritage Classic Sector Dial and the Nomos Orion. In the end, I went with the Longines.
Poirot is all about order, symmetry, and detail, with just a touch of theatrical flair. The sector dial really hits that sweet spot. It’s perfectly balanced, visually interesting, and elegant without being loud. It also feels right for the era (1930s–40s), whereas the Nomos leans more modern and minimalist.
This one also marks my 5-year wedding anniversary (gift from my wife), so it’s got some extra meaning behind it. I thought this was a fun way to think about watches and wanted to share. At the end of the day, watches are emotional purchases :)
