Why do blood test results look like they were designed for scientists instead of normal humans?

Had a full health screening this week and I genuinely wasn’t prepared for the experience 😭

First of all… why does a “routine blood test” require enough vials to start a small vampire startup?

The nurse kept adding tubes like:

“and one more…”

By vial #6 I was internally preparing my last words.

But honestly the weirdest part came AFTER the test.

I got the results back and the report looked like:

  • random capital letters,
  • mystery numbers,
  • highlighted warnings,
  • and abbreviations that sound like WiFi passwords.

Stuff like:

  • HDL
  • TSH
  • ALT
  • MCHC

And somehow I’m supposed to know if I’m healthy or if my liver is preparing an exit strategy??

The funniest part:
Google makes everything worse.

You search ONE marker and suddenly:

“possible causes include stress, poor sleep… or immediate collapse.”

So I ended up using AI to help explain the report in actual human language and honestly… it was the first time bloodwork ever made sense to me.

Now I’m wondering:
Why hasn’t healthcare modernized this yet??

Like we can generate AI videos, self-driving cars exist, but blood test reports still look like classified government documents from 2003.

Also:
How many vials did they take during YOUR last health screening?

And please tell me I’m not the only one pretending to stay calm while secretly counting every tube 💀
