Inflatable 12 foot vs inflatable 14 foot kayak

Looking at the NRS 125/145 and Bote 12 foot and 14 foot koda. In general when folks ask about longer kayaks on this forum, the 14 is always recommended. But that’s with hard shell kayaks. Does the same apply for inflatables? I know inflatables are a little more stable so not sure how that carries over.

Inflatable Kayak Questions

My mother overfilled my supyak and it went Kaboom. Looking at some inflatable Kayak offerings as a graduation to more capability.

Budget is around $1000-$1400. Considering 12 up to 14 foot (tandem). I kayak with 2 experienced 25 lbs water dogs (life jackets of course) on flatter lakes so I’ll need space to fit them. However I was planning on kayaking some lagoons/calm coves in Southern California (solo). I would like the ability to cover greater distances to make the most of places like Lake Powell. I also wouldn’t mind the ability to add an umbrella/cover.

What’s everyone’s opinion on solo paddling a 12 vs 14 foot?

I’m considering 12 but not sure it would have the space for 2 dogs. I usually don’t travel to camp, probably spend 4-6 hours in the craft at most. I bring just a backpack, an extra paddle, lots of water, safety equipment etc. but nothing for fishing or a giant cooler.

Any opinions on the NRS Kaholo vs Bote Koda? Open to other offerings. I seem to be stuck between the 12 and 14 foot of both options.
