…and for the first time I’m aware Uber is taking over 50% of the cost. I’ve seen a noticeable drop in tips recently probably because of the increased costs of rides or possibly because Uber isn’t forwarding tips. I really couldn’t say. But I took three 18 year olds from a college bar to a very affluent neighborhood last night and they made a big deal about the ride being $70 and I was offered $28 and change for a 32 mile, 35 minute drive. I’ve had two other people complain about how cost tell me how much on long runs and I received well less than half of what they paid. If Uber is charging more for high gas prices for riders they’re not giving the extra cost to the drivers.

I brought my son to turn in his baseball uniforms at West Port H.S. since he’s graduating and only attended CF his senior year. At first we thought they were setting up to ruin some bad high school driver’s day, lol. But then we realized it was every cop, sheriff, trooper and probably numerous plain clothed authorities you could possibly imagine. They had semi-tractor trailers lining the runway to obscure Trump’s arrival.

This was about an hour ago so I’m guessing traffic is going to be a mess this afternoon as the motorcade goes from there to the villages and back. Combine that with about 40k expected for UF graduation tonight 7-9 at Ben Hill Griffin stadium and I bet the traffic is going to be pretty awful in Marion and Alachua counties today. Good luck if you’ve gotta go anywhere.
