Swapping spoked wheels for cast
I have a 2021 650 XT which I bought last year. I recently had a tyre changed and found that the previous owner used tyre slime and didn't clean it out afterwards. As a result, the rim is badly corroded inside and aluminium rot is destroying the rim. Some spots are multiple millimeters deep and nearly through the thickness of the rim. It's the front wheel, but I expect the rear to be similar.
Replacement rims from suzuki are stupidly expensive. Second hand spoked wheels are rare. I'm thinking of changing to spoked rims and rebuilding the spoked ones at some point in the future when I find some rims. Cast wheels are more easily available.
THE QUESTION: Does anyone know if a DL 650 XT (2017 onwards) will accept the cast wheels from the base model.
