I was just reading a thread over on r/AskReddit asking about "something unbelievable you saw that no one believes" and one of the comments said that they saw a thylacine in a forest, with other commenters jumping in to say they believe them.

I swear it hasn't been terribly long that they were rediscovered and no longer extinct? I remember reading an article about it and there was a picture of a pack of them in a sandy Australian backdrop. The article talked about how after years of unconfirmed sightings, researchers had found some and worked tirelessly to bring them back from the brink. I remember being shocked that it was such a casual read as they had been back for years and I had only just found out. I felt crazy for missing such a big piece of news.

So I started looking and no they are still extinct and we still only have unconfirmed sightings and I searched for MEs relating to this but didn't see any saying they were back. So now I'm left feeling crazy again bc apparently I didn't read that article.

But I DID find that apparently there are some birds that have little claw things on their wings????? That's new. I also found posts about how nautilus was extinct for some. This was my reality as well. I remember as a kid they were depicted as huge sea monsters swimming with dinosaurs and they had an extra long tentacle. I thought they were so scary. Scientists were unsure about what exactly was going on inside the shell bc we only had fossils.
