Message to the public housing youth
The road life is a myth that keeps getting sold to us, and we keep paying the heaviest price for it generation after generation it’s us dying and ending up in cells. It’s us tweaking out on the side of the road on drugs. And what do we get? A cool story?Keep your head low and think long term. Poverty is frustrating, I know, and it feels like nobody cares, but it’s temporary. Living paranoid, watching over your shoulder every day, or ending up stuck in a 7x4 cell isn’t worth it. And after all that work you put in, I guarantee you’ll still be stuck in the same position.
We got something a lot of people don't have hunger and pain tolerance. Use that for something bigger than the streets. And this isn't just for Toronto, I'm talking to kids on the reserve, Ottawa, Montreal, everywhere. You boys got more potential than you think. And don’t get hypnotized by the Internet your struggle is just a fantasy to these people. Most these people didn’t grow up in poverty they have something to fall back on YOU don’t.
