Hey everyone, I’m currently a first year at University of California, Santa Cruz and just got accepted to Seattle University with a scholarship as a Psych BA major. I’m from NorCal and have visited Seattle multiple times and genuinely love the weather/vibe there, which is definitely part of why I’m considering transferring.
I like UCSC, but honestly I haven’t fully clicked socially here and sometimes the campus feels kinda isolating. Some of my classes also feel huge and impersonal, which I don’t love. I feel like I might do better in a smaller, more city-based environment with smaller classes.
Money also isn’t really the deciding factor here, this is more about overall fit and where I think I’d actually be happier.
I’m also not super crazy about partying tbh, and Santa Cruz already doesn’t really have a massive party scene anyway. I’m pretty social and can make friends easily, so I’m less worried about that and more wondering if SU feels too small socially.
At the same time, I’m scared I just like the idea of change and don’t wanna make an impulsive decision.
For anyone who goes to SU or transferred there:
What’s the student culture actually like?
Do transfers fit in well?
Does the school ever feel too small?
How are psych opportunities/internships?
Do you regret choosing SU or not?
Would really appreciate honest opinions lol.
