Hi everyone, I write a newsletter about AI applications in construction, and I want to know why construction firms are hesitant to adopt AI. My theory is that many people only know about general AI chat bots like ChatGPT and Gemini. I don’t think people really know about construction specific AI tools like Togal or Document Crunch. I asked this question in the construction managers subreddit and they all kind of hate AI lol. Thoughts?

Is there a knowledge gap? I asked a question about AI in the construction managers subreddit and it was received very poorly. People were calling it AI trash and stuff like that. I asked them what AI they have used and they’ve pretty much all said basic chat bots like ChatGPT or Gemini, not the construction specific AI tools I cover. Do y’all think the publicity of common AI like ChatGPT causes people in the industry to generalize their experience with it to all other AI tools? And is this the reason they don’t look into construction specific AI?

I write a newsletter about AI applications in the construction industry, and I want to know what the main reason is for why many construction firms are reluctant to adopt AI. Is it a fear of garbage data? AI can hallucinate which is pretty much making up data out of nowhere and come to seemingly random conclusions. Is this a big factor when deciding to implement AI?
