You and your partner in crime have been arrested and accused of a heinous crime. The prosecutor comes to offer a plea deal. They have no evidence, and you are certain to win if the case goes to trial. The outcomes are as follows:

1. If you confess, and your partner stays silent, you are executed and your partner is freed.
2. If you stay silent and your partner confesses, you are freed and your partner is executed.
3. If you both confess you are forgiven and go free (unrealistic I know, but this is the red/blue version of the dilemma)
4. If you both stay silent, the case goes to trial and you both win and go free.
