Hii, I’m looking for an old book about dog breeds that I used to read around 2005–2010, although I think the book itself was actually from the 70s–90s, maybe older.

The book was about different dog breeds. It had a medium-sized square format and a red hardcover.

What I remember most were the illustrations:

  • they had a vintage editorial illustration style
  • realistic but slightly simplified/stylized
  • very beautiful and elegant, not childish or cartoonish
  • the dogs were shown running, playing, or in dynamic poses
  • the illustrations didn’t feel static on the page; they played with the space and positioning of the dogs within the layouts

I don’t remember much text, or at least the visual aspect was the most memorable part. It felt more like a beautiful visual book about dog breeds than a technical guide.

The closest thing I’ve found is “The Red Book of Dogs,” although I don’t think that’s the exact book , it just has a similar vibe.

It would mean a lot to me if I could find it again, since I was fascinated by it as a child, but now I can’t remember the title or the author.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?
