From simple world clocks to a dark web experience: The evolution of my horror project.

From simple world clocks to a dark web experience: The evolution of my horror project.

Hi everyone!

I shared the first version of Killer Clocks here just 3 days ago. It was a simple tool with a Death Clock calculator and some spooky world clocks. The feedback was great, but I felt it could be much more immersive.

So, after 3 days of zero sleep and a complete rewrite of the code, I’ve transformed it into a full atmospheric horror hub.

What’s new in the "Underworld":

  • Underworld Chat: A "live" feed where you intercept cryptic and disturbing messages being sent between entities in Heaven and Hell.
  • Dark Web Prank (?) & Mystery Box: Added some interactive "Dark Web" style elements. Open the Mystery Box if you dare, but be careful what you trigger.
  • Pick a Door & Read Your Fortune: New interactive fate-based games. One choice leads to a fortune, the other... well, you'll see.
  • The Last Text Ever Sent: A collection of chilling final messages.
  • Horror Quiz & Death Clock: Test your survival instincts or find out your "expiration date" based on your lifestyle choices.
  • The Diaries: Deep-dive into dark lore and scary entries that expand the Killer Clocks universe.

The Aesthetic: I’ve overhauled the UI to feel like a forbidden terminal. Added fog effects, flickering lights, and improved the "glow" to be sharp and atmospheric without losing readability on mobile.

Coming in the Next Update: The ritual is not over. I’m currently developing:

  1. Ouija Board: An interactive session to speak with the "others".
  2. Decode the Message: Cryptographic puzzles for the detectives of the dark.
  3. The Ritual Sections: A step-by-step interactive horror experiment.

I’d love to hear your feedback! Which section creeped you out the most? Does the "Dark Web" vibe work for you?

Killer Clocks

Killer Clocks: A horror-themed world clock with a "corrupted" death calculator.

The Concept: I wanted to build something more atmospheric than a standard utility app. Killer Clocks is a collection of real-time world clocks wrapped in a 80s/90s slasher aesthetic.

The Twist: It features a "Death Calculator" (purely for entertainment) where I’ve implemented some rare "corrupted outcomes". There's a 1% chance the script triggers a glitch-heavy, disturbing result instead of a normal prediction. I’m curious to see if it’s too unsettling or if the rarity makes it work.

Technical Details:

  • Vanilla JS & CSS: No heavy frameworks. I wanted it to be fast and snappy.
  • Animations: Custom CSS for the dripping blood effects and the analog clock movements.
  • RNG Logic: The "fate" algorithm uses basic lifestyle inputs but includes a specific hook for those rare corrupted states.
  • Social Sharing: Built a custom canvas generator so users can download their "death date" as a PNG.

Challenges: Finding the right balance between "creepy" and "too much." I also had a bit of a headache syncing the analog hands with the local time of each city perfectly while keeping the CPU usage low.

I’d love some feedback on the UI/UX and if the horror vibe hits the mark for you!

I built a "Horror World Clock" with a built-in Death Calculator. I might have gone too far with the 'corrupted' outcomes.

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on a small side project called Killer Clocks. It started as a simple world clock with horror movie aesthetics, but I ended up adding a 'statistical prophecy' (death calculator) feature.

I wanted to experiment with CSS animations (the blood drips) and some RNG-based 'corrupted' results that only appear about 1% of the time. If you're a fan of horror vibes or 80s slasher quotes, I’d love to hear your feedback on the UI and the 'corrupted' logic. No ads, no sign-ups, just a fun (and slightly disturbing) experiment.

I made a fake “Death Calculator” that becomes increasingly corrupted the more you use it

This fake death calculator becomes progressively more disturbing the more you use it.

Some users are reporting corrupted outcomes that should only appear 1% of the time.

I probably should not have added those.
