Had my hearing with the ALJ last Thursday, April 23rd and I was shocked to see an email about a status update. I logged into my portal tonight and see that they moved it to step 4 which I thought was quick after one week. I am 64yo in Staten Island, NY who had an ALJ in Jersey City with the second lowest approval percentage. My attorney called me after the hearing call saying congratulations and I said I wish I had the same confidence after 2 years of this. He said that when the VE states "no jobs" for any of the scenario's given by the ALJ then that's a great sign. I called my local office but it was after 4 pm so they were closed. I called the state number and they said they know a decision was made but they could not see it. I will call local office again tomorrow so won't sleep well tonight. Any thoughts on how quickly a decision was made? Thank you.
Update
I called local office this morning and I got lucky with a nice SSA rep and he did tell me that I was found fully favorable. With all of the knowledge gained from these chats, I am stunned that I received a decision one week after hearing let alone being favorable. Still surreal so waiting for portal to update and / or letter to be received. Thanks to all of you for being part of this forum. It has helped me and I’m sure everyone cope with this broken system. Good luck to everyone waiting.
