Background: 45M, colonoscopy about 11 days ago. 12 polyps found, one was 8mm, most were under 4mm. Doctor didn’t suspect active cancer but acknowledged 12 is a lot.

So I got my results today via a brief online message - no phone call or appointment. Basically, it said:

The polyp removed during your colonoscopy were confirmed to be precancerous (tubular adenoma)

There is no evidence of cancer.

Having removed them these types of polyps has been shown to decrease the risk of developing colorectal cancer.

Repeat procedure in two years (a bit concerning seeing as a lot of people were saying their precancerous polyps caused them to come back in 3 or 5 years)

Will have an extended wait for further discussion with the doctor, but will do my best to not be stressed and patient.

For those of you with knowledge or a similar experience, are tubular adenomas considered a worse or more favorable type of adenomas? I think the worst type was “vollinous” or something like that. I can’t trust anything google says anymore - so I’m trying to avoid that.

Was there really any chance with 12 polyps, that NONE would be pre-cancerous? Was this probably the most favorable outcome given what I already knew?

I read some older post similar to this, but I’d like to get an up-to-date metric.

Or anyone who has had a colonoscopy, and polyps were found, can you please share how long it took for your biopsy results and what state you are in? If you are comfortable with sharing, can you say what your outcome was as well?

I only did mine a few business days ago and I’ve not received results. However, some folks Neer and dear to me, reported having their results in just a couple of days, while others said it took a full two weeks? I’d love to hear others experience while I wait.
