I’m a tour guide based in México, and I’m looking to diversify where I promote my experiences. I’ve been using the usual suspects (Viator, GetYourGuide, Airbnb Experiences), but the high commissions and "mass-market" feel a bit draining for the type of niche, community-led tours I run.
I’m really interested in platforms like ExploringNotBoring that focus more on local storytellers and community-driven experiences rather than just cookie-cutter stuff.
A couple of specific questions for the group:
Besides the big OTAs, which platforms have you found success with for reaching a more conscious, international audience (beyond just the US market)?
Has anyone had luck with Withlocals, ToursByLocals, or Showaround?
Are there any regional or niche marketplaces you’d recommend for someone focusing on history and culture in Latin America?
I’d love to reach more travelers from Europe, Canada, and within LatAm who are looking for something a bit more authentic.
