We get 6x as many converts
Pew Research found that 20.2% of Americans went from religious to nonreligious while only 3.5% went from nonreligious to religious. That’s 5.8x. Yes I rounded up in the title.
Only 12.6% of Americans were raised “religiously unaffiliated” but now we’re up over 29% of the population.
So the next time someone is trying to convert you let them know that statistically speaking you are way more likely to deconvert them than they are to convert you.
