Driver Side Mirror Breaking Internally

This keeps on breaking on my driver side. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to either get it fixed or someone that makes it? Not sure if this is a common issue. The shaft keeps snapping on the side causing the retainer to fly off with the slightest movement. Was already replaced once but it happened again. Mirror was not hit. Shaft is not bent either.

So a while back I said I had a 3S block thinking it was probably a GTE block hoping for the best. Well it turns out it’s the FE block probably from a RAV4. Not the worst news in the world for me driving the car but it does put a big roadblock on my plans for adding a turbo. Sorta decided to keep it NA until I find a 2nd gen GTE block or full engine. Now I’m stuck with this and probably will do the piston rings and head studs with a new head gasket for now. Let me know if you guys have any ideas on how you guys would continue. (Ignore the welds. Sorta a long story on that.)

So back with what I was doing some time ago I saved up some money to purchase a 3S-GTE head. Turns out I purchased a Gen-1 3S-GTE head instead of a Gen-2. Any ideas with the differences besides efficiency and flow that will affect the build in any way. Old posts have information on what I am doing. The 3S head is a second option for when I decide to remove the 5S head on the car right now.
