Long story short, I pay my invoices manually. Have done so for nearly a decade.
Company got bought out, cut support and changed the way they do things.
During that time they changed my billing from manually to automatic without my knowledge.
My invoices have a due date of the 1st of every month.
I changed hosts and was about to cancel when they sent me and invoice and then 5 minutes after, took the money for it. This is when it came to my attention they changed it to automatic.
I spoke to them and said I’m leaving and was cancelling. I told them I do my payments manually and was shocked they changed it.
They then said, because the money had been taken, resources have already been allocated and now no refund can be given?
The invoice was due on the 1st and THEY took the payment. How can they say no refunds because I paid my invoice when it was them that decided to take the money 5 minutes after sending me the invoice?
They said I can cancel anytime and no more renewals will happen but because this went through, I can’t get a refund?
They also increased the price this month without my agreement. So they not only took money without my consent but increased the price as well.
Is there anything I can do? I paid using PayPal.
