How important is the Lord's Prayer in different christian sects, and could it be considered "universal"?
Hello. I'm working on a story which will deal with a fictionalized version of Christianity (basically it takes place in another version of Earth, but one that still has Christianity, with some modifications to better fit its particularities), and so I've been researching some notable differences between Christian sects to help me craft one that would seem believable as having developed in my world (for example, it is mostly non-trinitarian, since the notion of Jesus being the son of God would be irrelevant to them). Long story short, I wanted to include the Lord's Prayer as the main prayer used in this world as well (especially since God is widely known in this world as "the Heavenly Father/the Father God", which fits with the first verse). I think it is a good fit because of its direct biblical origin, and how old it is, dating back to some of the earliest forms of the christian faith. Problem is, I come from a Catholic/Kardecist background, and so I thought that my understanding of the Lord's Prayer as the most important one may be biased. So this question goes more to other sects such as Protestantism, Orthodoxy and so on. Is the Lord's Prayer also considered that important in your sect? And would you say it is a good fit for a universal representation of Christianity? If this question offends anyone in any way, I apologize, I assure it is not my intention.
