Anyone using retinoids?

I think this might be a dumb question, but I love skincare, and retinol (retinoids in general) are really popular, and supposedly effective, for anti-aging.

Wrinkles are the last thing I worry about, since I have eczema on my face, but I was really curious to know if someone without symptoms could use retinoids and not get a flare up?

They seem too harsh for eczema prone skin, although I’ve read micro-encapsulated versions release the active ingredient slowly over hours, preventing the "barrier shock" that typically triggers an eczema flare

Do any of you notice your eczema and itching flaring up after eating?

Hi guys!

Do any of you notice your eczema and itching flaring up after eating?

I've had severe eczema (atopic dermatitis all of my life). After trying many meds, like immunosuppressants, some with pretty bad side effects like memory loss, in 2020 I got on Dupixent\Dupilumab, a monoclonal antibody. It was amazing, I went from having sores and open wounds on my neck, face, arms and hands to not having eczema at all.

Now, though, it's starting to be less effective, and it has come back on my arms, my hands and my face, even if not as severe. Throughout I’ve kept using steroids (cortisone) cream when necessary. I’m not asking for tips on a meds to “cure” it, at this point I think there’s no cure and all I can do is try and manage the symptoms so I can try and live a normal life.

Anyways, I’m trying to write my Thesis while having constant itching due to the flare up, and I noticed it gets worse after I eat, so I’m trying to figure out how to prevent that so I can write more. I’m not sure what the correlation is with food, for context it flared up after I ate vegan yogurt with chia seeds, banana and a tiny bit of granola for breakfast, and after I ate pizza for lunch. Pizza is processed food so I could maybe see a correlation there, but breakfast was lactose free etc.

PS. I'm glad I found this community, eczema can be a very isolating illness. I'm in my first romantic relationship where a partner has seen my eczema and experience one of my flare ups, and I'm also navigating that, which emotionally is a bit challenging. So I'm happy I can read similar experiences on here

Hi everyone! I’m graduating this July with an MSc in Anthropology from the University of Amsterdam and am looking to break into UXR. I’d love to hear what helped you get your first junior or entry-level position, in your opinion. I don’t know anyone working in UXR and it’s not a popular career path where I currently live (Italy) so I’m a bit lost.

For context, here is my background:
Education: Research-heavy BA and MSc in Anthropology.
Qualitative Skills: Ethnography, life history interviews, focus groups, and semi-structured interviewing.
Quantitative/Digital Skills: Proficient in R (Tidyverse, ggplot2), Gephi (network analysis), 4CAT, Zeeschuimer, and Atlas.ti.
Experience: Mixed-methods researcher for two research centres and Marketing intern in two startups.
