Hi! My hysterectomy (everything except ovaries) is scheduled for June 22. It's for endo, because I have awful symptoms despite normal ultrasound and CT, and I don't want to stay on the birth control that's kind of sort of managing it right now, because the side effects of that are crazy. I'm 30, nonbinary, they/them pronouns.

I'm curious whether the surgeon's office will submit for pre-authorization to my insurance or not? They haven't said anything about it and I'm paranoid about insurance randomly deciding to not cover...should I call and bother them about it, and if so, is it too early to do that now?

Thanks to all who've shared experiences here. It's been really helpful to read through everything as I'm preparing, especially hearing the positive stories (I convinced my brain WAY too early that this was all going to go horribly wrong.).

Okay so I'm getting a hysterectomy in June and top surgery in November. Not on T (tried it at a low dose, wasn't for me at least right now, stopped in January). I'm keeping my ovaries because I'm only 30, but plan to stop birth control after because birth control has been miserable (stopped my PMDD mostly kinda? but also killed my sex drive, bloating, made my chest go up a size, I suddenly have high cholesterol, etc) and the one I'm on has a higher than normal risk of blood clots.

My question is: post top surgery, did PMS still make your chest hurt and/or swell every month? I do not know if I can handle the dysphoria of that and I want to be prepared.
