Hi Guys! So i'm a female international student currently plannning on renting an apartment in East Boston for next year. I found the place through a real estate agent and while the neighborhood surrounding wasn't fancy, for the price it was honestly a steal. It's still on the market 2 months after touring and since boston housing is insane, that worried me a little.
I talked to some friends in the area and they definitely expressed concern with the safety of living there, especially as a young woman living alone with her (large) dog. It's a ground floor apartment in a duplex (scary in itself) close to the Walgreens on Porter st. so i'll be taking the blue line from maverick station to my uni. I have evening classes that end around 7:30 so that's definitely a worry of mine- if anyone lives in the area or knows of it, should I find another place?
