Help with ammonia!

Hi!

I have a large tank (60gal) that was being used for guppies, mollies, 1 betta, and 2 clown plecos. I had to treat with antibiotics due to columnaris about 1.5 months ago, which completely crashed the cycle.

I have been dealing with ammonia for about a month now, which killed the majority of my adult fish. Right now I have an adult guppy, the betta, clown plecos, and about 12-15 guppy fry (some about half the size of an adult guppy). The tank definitely is not over stocked right now, but I have no where to move them to unfortunately. I am in the process of cycling an emergency tank for the future.

Anyways, I have been trying to get my levels stable for about a month or more now. I have used stability and Fritz 7, but am now just sticking to stability, prime, and frequent water changes. At its worst it got up to 4ppm of ammonia when I had to go out of town and someone else watched them. It is now around 1-2ppm ammonia, .25 nitrite, and 0 nitrate. My tap pH is around 8, but using acid buffer I’ve been trying to keep it around 6.8-7.2 so they don’t have a massive pH difference during water changes. I also tested my tap water for ammonia and it sadly sits around .5ppm. I have been sticking to water changes at least every other day so that they don’t get killed by ammonia

Any advice would be so appreciated, as I feel like I can’t get this to work itself out!
