Hi everyone,
Sorry for posting here, I dont have enough karma to post on the related subreddit (lawPH).
Hope someone can help me here.
I’m currently looking for an experienced lawyer in the Philippines who is willing to work on a contingency fee arrangement (payment depending on recovered amount).
I honestly don’t have much budget upfront right now because I’m currently rebuilding financially so I’m hoping to find someone willing to take on a strong recovery-based case.
Here’s a summary of what happened:
I previously operated as a contractor, and my company had a direct contract with a client for a project. Since I was also employed at the time and couldn’t fully focus on the project, I hired a subcontractor who was recommended by a close friend. We had a signed agreement/contract regarding scope, pricing, and responsibilities.
At first, everything went smoothly. The project progressed normally, and there were no major issues during the early stages. However, later on, I found out she was allegedly having problems with other projects as well. Because I trusted her given she was recommended by a close friend and admittedly failed to monitor the progress and billing closely enough, she continued receiving advances/payments even though the actual accomplishment on-site did not match the amounts already released.
Eventually, I realized that a very large portion of the contract amount had already been consumed while the project was only around halfway completed.
I had no choice but to personally take over and finish the project myself in order to protect my company’s reputation and fulfill obligations to the client.
Because of this, I incurred significant debt:
-bank loans
-personal debts from family
-delayed and unpaid obligations
-damaged banking records/credit standing
-severe financial and reputational damage as a contractor
Initially, the subcontractor still communicated and promised repayment, but eventually stopped contacting and communication became unreliable.
I am now working overseas because I had to recover financially and pay off debts, which also makes it difficult for me to personally handle legal proceedings in the Philippines. I’m hoping to find a lawyer who can actively manage and represent the case even while I’m abroad.
I still have:
-signed agreements/contracts
-payment records
-project-related documents
conversations/messages
-proof of damages and financial impact
If you are a lawyer or know someone who is a lawyer experienced in construction disputes, contract recovery, civil litigation, or estafa-related cases — or if you can recommend someone trustworthy — please feel free to message me.
Thank you.
