I don't have any clinical work experience and don't have a CNA license. I'm from Michigan and licenses aren't required especially for nursing students. I'm just going crazy because I've applied to 40 different jobs since March and have only heard back from about half and secured 2-3 interviews. The places that have reached back out rejected my application within less than 18 hours, and I'm pretty sure it's because they're only using AI(I actually hate AI with my entire life force I CANNOT). I literally just applied to a PCT position and they rejected my application the MOMENT I submitted it.
I know I don't have clinical experience and I'll admit I'm applying to mostly very big hospitals but I'm just really frustrated. The only people I know that have jobs have parents already working at the hospital or they've been working as a PCT or CNA since before they got into the program. I think I'm going to go insane.
I'm literally applying to PCT/PCA/Nurse assistant/Nurse tech/Nurse extern jobs. They all do not require any licensure besides BLS which I obviously have or else I'll be kicked from my nursing program. I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong. I totally understand if it's 100% because I don't have clinical experience but I've just passed Med/Surg 1 and that is the minimum requirement for all the places I've applied to. I have a 3.6 GPA and it's not like I have zero work experience at all, I've worked in service.
Is it just that they don't want to hire students anymore? I've literally told them I'm going to work into school as well. I'm also applying to PRN/contingent positions, not even full-time/part-time that requires a certain amount of hours per week. What could I possibly be doing wrong?
