Something i just noticed after rewatching MHA , when midoriya returned to UA , and when they were bathing , bakugo called midoriya deku and then quickly changed it to Izuku , what midoriya said next is what made me think.
Midoriya was supposed to reply, "You can call me Deku," and that's all, because he supposedly accepted the name completely and now saw it in a different sense (after Uraraka's words) , but his response was not like that; he said, "you dont have to do it (IF IT'S IMPOSSIBLE)" . The way he said it suggests he wants to be called Izuku, but if that's IMPOSSIBLE, then you can call him Deku.
What do you think of this? Or am I just exaggerating?
