nasomaxillary expansion fixed my nasal breathing...but I still have UARS. Not sure where to go from here...
I have been in a state of daily exhaustion and brain fog for the last 6 years. I got an inlab sleep study back in 2024 that showed RDI 48.9 RERAs an hour. Prior to the study I tried months of cpap and a custom MAD device and they did nothing. I also tried bipap (vauto) and titrating it and it didnt help, my oscar data flow limitation looked normal from what i saw. I then decided to get nasomaxillary expansion, which significantly helped my nasal breathing, I breathe perfect out of both nostrils now and never feel congested, yet i still feel exhausted every day like before the surgery. My CBCT pharyngeal airway showed a minimum cross-sectional area of 219 mm², which my surgeon considered normal. I am more narrow behind my palate then behind my tongue. So I dont think i would benefit from a jaw surgery nor can i afford one. I am just completely lost on what I should do next, I could not find any relief with pap therapy, only other one I haven't tried is ASV but after already buying two other machines I feel a bit burned on buying another expensive pap machine.
This condition has really done a number on me and I feel it has ruined my early 20's. I don't enjoy anything anymore and all i think about is how I want to just sleep forever. Its a battle to get out of bed every morning. Anyway thank you for reading, i just felt like i needed to get my thoughts out there and any advise would be appreciated.
