Hi all, I have been out of work for almost one year now. Playing the application game, makes me sick, it’s just go back in circle and take us nowhere. The more time I spent on it, the more it gets to my nerves!

Today I’ve been to another Job event which promise networking and visibility on jobs not published in the market… (this already freak me out)!

Anyway, I went there with a completely open mind, open to exploring new sectors at this point!

I finally go in just to find job boards stands and a few companies.. Talking to them, I discovered that these companies were already “at capacity” but wanted to create their own database of candidates to avoid job posting fees to eventually go back if any position would free up.. Result for today = WASTE OF TIME!

I don’t know how you feel about this whole game, but I have been working on a personal project to understand what is actually needed (outside the game).. what we really need as workers, what companies need and what the market is currently offering instead.

After today, I start taking this seriously…

I’m thinking to create a “movement” to put an end to the application process entirely and have an open job market.. Everything nowadays has an open market.. you have transparency when searching for houses, when buying and selling on stock market, everything. I don’t understand why the job market is stacked to 1950, why there are so many gatekeepers and why getting a job became almost impossible. Too much time wasted applying to fake jobs, ghosted after number of stages where sharing hard work (for FREE).. in short a bloody nightmare!!!

What’s in my mind.. TRANSPARENCY in the market!

How do you feel about it? If I finalise such idea assuming it provides what really matters and is free for us… (we’re already searching for a job, meaning we shouldn’t have to spend money to find one), would you be interested?

Is this just my frustration, or do you feel the same way?

I’m looking for a job, either permanent or flexible for this summer. I’ve been scrolling the app store for three days and I’m losing my mind.

Every time I search for "Job" or even just "Remote Work" I get the usual LinkedIn, Indeed and 500 scam apps or side hustle trackers that nobody asked for. It is freaking me out; how do I even know which app can help or it’s just trash?

I feel like I’m using the wrong language. When you guys are actually looking for a legit job (not a survey) what are you typing into the search bar? Are we still searching "Jobs" or has everyone moved to specific stuff like "getting hired", “hiring immediately” or anything similar? What am I getting wrong?
