I'm trying to understand if "standard" BD typically needs firmware flashing, or if that's only really needed for UHD/4k disks. Can anyone clarify for me? The vast majority of what I want to use makemkv with is DVDs and BDs, so if any old BD player will work with those, that will be much cheaper for me! Thanks!
