My dad passed away July 2024. I had not been in contact with him for over 18 years, but I was contacted by his apartment complex that he was found deceased in his apartment unit. They claimed to have his belongings and cash that he kept in a storage container so that it can be passed onto me if I wanted it. They needed his death certificate to confirm that I am his biological son. I finally received his death certificate, but now having some suspicion about providing his death certificate with sensitive information on it. The address listed on the death certificate and the apartment complex that contacted me match. Should I be concerned?
