Recently my glasses prescription was updated to progressives. I loved them. They improved my quality of life immediately. I’m not exaggerating. I COULD SEE EVERYTHING AGAIN!
But I’m a runner and work out a lot. I prefer to wear contacts when I’m active. So my doc gave me a set of trial multifocal contacts. I understand there is a period of adjustment that can take up to 2-3 weeks.
My question is, since I predominately wear glasses and only wear contacts for short periods of activity or when I’m dressing up fancy, will my eyes never actually adjust? Or, I guess, what I’m asking is will the “lose their adjustment” because I go awhile without them and wear glasses instead. Am I basically going to have poor vision when I put in contacts because I don’t wear them consistently?
I wore them exclusively during the adjustment period when I first got them. I could see fine, not as crisp as with my glasses, but I was told to expect that. But then I had a surgery and went back to glasses for comfort and convenience. Now I’m okayed by doc to work out again. It’s been weeks since I wore the contacts. I’m assuming it will be like day one again?
Does anyone else switch back and forth? How does it work for you?
