Things are going well!

Hello all! 27 F and was a distance runner prior to injury. Tomorrow will be exactly 3 weeks post-op for my left labrum repair with FAI (cam) femoroplasty and capsular repair! I was in surgery around 2.5 hours and have 3 anchors placed. Previous history of stress fracture in my femur about a year prior to surgery. I also will be getting my right leg done in ~10 weeks if all is going well still. But I must say, I am feeling really good! I wanted to share some positive feedback and hope. Prior to surgery I was in such excruciating pain at night, I’d toss and turn like a hotdog on a roller at a gas station. Now I sleep mostly through the night. This week has been the one where everything turned around. Weeks 1-2 I had some sharp pinching in the groin that was exacerbated by cpm use past 90° flexion. I toned it back a bit which has helped immensely. I’ve started recumbent biking at PT and am looking to be completely off crutches in 1 week! My doctor and physical therapist said that after the second surgery I will be able to start a running program at the 12 week mark. There are brief moments of soreness, but more than anything it just feels odd and a little tight in the joint, but so much better than it ever did with the tears. I’m hoping for continued progress and hope that you all are doing well in your healing ❤️‍🩹 Let me know if you have any questions!
