“You’re one of the good vegetarians/vegans”
I always hear this when people find out I don’t eat meat, since they assume I would advertised it whenever I get the chance.
There’s a stereotype of vegetarians/vegans being pushy about their morals, and I guess it’s partially true, but do you really consider someone who doesn’t keep their moral choices a secret “one of the bad ones?”
So often, carnists are pushy toward vegans, trying to get them to eat meat, I know I’ve experienced this. Yet when we try to share our morals we’re written off as annoying?
Edit: lotta people saying “I don’t care what you eat, you shouldn’t care what I eat.” It’s not a personal choice if it involves another’s death.
