Question about legality of self made documents even if they’re notarized
First of all I live in Georgia, USA
To make a long story short my Wife (25 YOF) and I (23 YOF) want to have a baby. We want to do it at home ourselves or allow myself to be with someone solely for getting pregnant as to not break our bank, yet anyway, when it comes to starting a family. We have a friend we’ve known for about two years now who is willing to help us out and give up his parental rights. His only ask if that if we get a divorce he start getting some visitation of the child, which my wife and I both agreed to.
I’ve gone to lawyers about it and they’re asking a lot of money, saying they can’t help, or they’ll get back to me. I understand it’s going to cost something but 1500+ for a document is crazy to me 😭
So my question is if we sit down and work out terms and write it out professionally, clearly, and all sign the document and get it notarized would it be valid? What would you recommend?
