My son is building a fixie from a Schwinn Caliente frame. Almost done, except I insisted he put a brake on it (he's 15, I pay the doctor bills). It seems the 700c wheelset that he is using is a bit smaller that the original Schwinn wheels that were on this bike. We have access to Schwinn brakes from this era (a local bicycle salvage organization), but they don't quite reach to the rims of the 700c wheels. Any suggestions on brakes that might have a deeper "bite" for this Frankenstein bike?
